 Gopis  were the ardent devotees of Bhagwan .  However the intrinsic nature of a woman , engulfed them ( that of desire)

which was purified by the Lord by making them pure and free from any desires.

It is true that those who are engrossed in the thoughts of the Lord cannot have any desires or vaasanas  left in their heart .

By merely meditating on the Lord all impurities evaporate like camphor!

In the Bhaagwat (10,22,26)the Lord Himself says—”Those who have devoted their buddhi (mind)  to  my thoughts ,
